About How To Choose a Tennis Net
- For those courts which are used for long playing season, you need a net that last long and look good in the long run. You must choose nets which are made of thicker cords. It should be braided and should have double mesh at the top.
- One advantage of braided nets over twisted nets is that they are stronger and absorb more energy. Due to it when ball hits the net it drop nearer to it and doesn't rebound.
- Use polyethylene nets because it is resistant to fading from UV radiation and weathers well.
- Net headbands are usually made of vinyl or polyester duck. They are joined with double layers and four rows of lock stitching to hold the layers. On hard courts polyester duck headbands are preferred because duck material absorbs ball's kinetic energy and doesn't speed up the ball.
- Vinyl headband is best fit on soft courts as they're easier to clean and dirt repellent, though balls tend to skid off vinyl material.
