Surfing fins are fixed to the rear of
surfboards to protect them from sliding sideways. They were developed by
George Greenough in the 1960s. High quality light fins are usually made
of fiberglass. These are made in a medley of colors and designs.
Carbon-Lite Fins
Carbon-lite fin is designed to provide speed and quick rail-to-rail
changes without sliding. A large base area provides maximum drive to
generate speed out of turns. Reduced height and tip area allows the side
fins to release sooner for tighter arcs. Works well in all size boards
in all size waves. The Carbon Lite construction ensures no flex, just
drive.
Composite Fins
The large base creates excellent drive and speed while the narrow
swept-back tip offers quick release off the top. The slightly smaller
centre fin enables tighter radius turns. A classic combination for power
and maneuverability geared to tight pocket power surfing.
