High-quality
pool player's gloves are made to help the cue slide smoothly and
accurately over the pool player's bridge hand. There is less friction
between the pool cue and the billiard glove than there would be without
a glove. Reducing this friction makes the stroke more consistent and
accurate. Some gloves fully cover the thumb, index finger, and middle finger, while some leave the tips of the fingers exposed to give a better grip of the felt. It slips on, and is highly elastic, ensuring a good fit. The leather gripping pad in the palm, gives greater stability with the bridge hand. Some billiard gloves extend to cover the wrist, where it can be adjusted to fit with a Velcro closure.
Gloves are available in a variety of colors, and one size fits all. Many gloves are made reversible to fit any of the two hands.
