Chest
Protector is a pad used by catchers and umpires to protect the body from
pitched and fouled-off balls. It covers the body from shoulders to the
waist.
Features of Chest Protector : A lightweight baseball catcher's
chest protector permits circulation of air to the user's body, and they
have many more features:
- The size of protective pad is sufficient to cover the chest
of the user. The organic material used in it is flexible and
laterally deformable. So it save the users from a blow when a
portion of it is struck by a baseball.
- The foam material after being struck by a baseball returns
but slowly to its initial configuration and as a result there is
no tendency of a missed baseball to strike the protector to
bounce therefrom.
- There are a lot of spaced openings in the protective pad. It
help to lighten the pads and also permit considerable
circulation of air through the pad to the user's body.
- The pad is covered with a film of flexible polymerized
resin. This is water impenetrable and it does not allow to
absorb perspiration from a user, even after extended use.
