Court ShoesBadminton court shoes are specific shoes which provide you comfort while playing. They require certain characteristics like gripping and stability which enhance your efficiency and help you to perform maximum. A good pair of Badminton Shoes must provide good grip, cushioning and some flexibility at the forefoot.

Materials Used In Shoe:
A lot of materials are used in manufacturing a badminton court shoe. The upper portion is made of materials like : P.U.Leather, Polyester mesh, T.P.U. . The mid sole is made of advanced polyester based material. Outer sole is usually made of rubber.

Grip And Sole:
  • The grip of badminton shoes should be such that it prevent the foot slipping inside the shoe. It helps stabilize your landing and minimize power loss during attack.

  • There should be Shock absorbing inserts positioned in the heel and sole to reduce fatigue and increase performance

  • Sole provides high stability. Graphite Sheet plate is a very good material used for sole.

  • Shape of sole is also a factor. The round sole provides a feeling of natural comfort underfoot.
Care And Maintenance:
  • Use your badminton shoes only for Badminton purposes.

  • If you want to have a comfortable grip from your badminton shoes, only wear it on badminton courts. Do not wear your shoes for jogging or other activities.

  • After jumping, if your knees and heels give pain each and every time you land heavily on the floor then it means that the cushioning of your shoes has worn off. It is the time to change them.

  • It would be very nice to get a good pair of heel cups. It may be costlier but it will definitely protect your heels from a lot of pain.

  • Once the grip is gone, your shoes will not be as effective as earlier on court.

  • Avoid wearing jogging shoes to play badminton. Jogging shoes have thicker soles and they lack the stability required for badminton. These might twist your ankles.
Buying Tips :
You must keep certain points in mind before purchasing a badminton shoe.
  • During size selection, leave some space between the tip of your big toe and tip of the shoes. It will allow some room for your feet to move inside your shoes after wearing sports socks.
Shape of Badminton court Shoes
The shape of shoes is a major region to give attention. The design should be such that it provide increased room, comfort and stability for the forefoot and toes. Ergoshape design is a very popular used for badminton shoes.
