June 1, 2010- There are a lot of terms which typically belong to a certain section of event, society or people. On the same lines, presenting here is a list of terms and skateboarding equipments which a skater is likely to come across while in a skatepark. Check out the skatepark terminologies below: Skatepark
Skatepark is referred to a set of elements restricted within a boundary for the use of skateboarders or BMX bikers.

Element: Element means a recreational activity article which has a certain level of inclination or curve to it so that the skaters can to tricks on it. Element Riding Surface - Element riding surface is the surface with which the user is supposed to be in contact with.

Portable: Portable is referred to the element which is movable and not anchored.

Semi-Permanent:Semi-permanent is the element which is movable and anchored as well. Permanent Permanent is the element which is not not supposed to be re-positioned or moved.

Guardrails: Guardrails is referred to the preventive barriers made to keep the riding equipments from tripping onto the sides or rear of the resting decks.

Protective Edging:Protective edging as the name suggests is a protective layering on the accessible edges of the crossing and ending planes so as to keep a check on the wear and tear.

Base: Base is a solid surface on which the elements are fixed. Generally it is made up of asphalt or a similar tough surface.

Coping: Coping is referred to the round pipe or tubes installed on various elements.

Peg Plate: Peg plate is a strong material that follows coping as an extension of around 4 inches.

Approaches/Thresholds: Approaches or thresholds are also known as transition plates. It is basically a connecting equipment between the base and the riding surface.
