Decide on the Right Tennis Racket Power Level

There are two considerations when buying tennis rackets- power and control. Control is what you'll have on your shots and power is what you can generate even from the tennis rackets. If you are a beginner, you will have less control on your shots and you have to depend upon generating power from the racquet. Thus, you must buy a lawn tennis racquet that has a higher power rating. One of the most basic rule concerned with a racket design says that bigger racket heads provide more power, and smaller heads provide less power. So, if you are a beginner, go for tennis rackets that have bigger heads. The advanced players may buy mid size and mid-plus tennis rackets.

How to Choose Tennis Racquets String?

The right selection of tennis rackets string will lead to just the right tension required while playing tennis. There are broadly two types of lawn tennis racquet strings- natural guts strings and the synthetic guts string.

Natural Gut Tennis Racket String- As gut strings are made from cows gut it highly expensive but the best string preferred by the professional players. Apart from giving good power, it prevents injury. However it is a bit difficult to keep it safe from moisture. Thus, the beginners in lawn tennis do not have much choices and have to depend upon the synthetic racket strings.

Synthetic Tennis Racket String- There are basically four-five types of materials used for making this type of tennis rackets string- nylon, polyester, kevlar, multifilament and textured strings. The one made with multifilament offers the most value for the money. It is very similar to natural gut string and the tennis rackets manufacturers can sell them at lower prices. They also avoid arm and wrist fatigue. Polyester string is also durable and powerful but can prove harder on the arm.
